Why I Started a Consulting Practice

Sharing today how I got started on JessicaHolmes.co my digital + experiential marketing studio and business consulting practice.

I began my career in e-commerce, supporting integrated marketing campaigns (think: website, print, email, social media). I loved the digital storytelling and designing top notch online shopping experiences.  While I liked many parts of the work I also didn’t see myself in the space long term. When I pivoted from corporate to a tech startup I loved being able to wear more hats, have more autonomy, and creative freedom.  I began to support not only the company’s digital platform, email and social but also purpose-driven, in-person connection — an area I’m passionate about and that I believe as humans we need to thrive.

With my first project-based work and marketing clients, I was happy to share my expertise, generate results for their businesses and felt honored that they trusted me to tell their stories online.  I am happy to have work that creates value but even more that I get to have great working relationships with inspiring people. I feel grateful to have taken steps to lead me here.  I love sharing, creating, connecting with and helping organizations grow.

I am excited to share and use my favorite growth tactics to help my practice grow as well. I hope you’ll follow along as we explore things together, have some real talk, and design a business that grows and evolves as we do.
