3 Marketing Opportunities You May Have Overlooked

Today I wanted to share three marketing opportunities and channels that you may have overlooked as a small business owner. There are so many things to juggle as business owner - booking new clients, paying employees, etc. I get it! Here are three areas I'd love for you to consider tackling if you haven’t already or you’ve been putting them off:

Google My Business: This is the platform that houses the content that populates Google Maps. GMB gives business owners some controls over how their business appears and what content pulls in (it pulls in both customer submitted content as well as business owner content and media). This is a huge opportunity for discovery, traffic, and information about your business. If you’re a business owner be sure to set up your account, populate it with accurate information about your business so customers can access and engage with your business on the go. If you take additional steps to add content (photos/videos) and respond to customer reviews that can also improve your visibility on GMB.

Website SEO: Many clients and sites I’ve visited can leave their SEO fields blank on their website pages, or simply allow automatic population of these fields from the website provider. I get that it’s difficult to know what to put in these fields and how there can be a fear around “doing it wrong.” I want to encourage you to not leave these fields empty. It’s key to have information around your business and services populated in these fields. Even if things change with your offerings it is important to have something descriptive here so that people can find you and that google can start indexing the content on your site.

Collecting Client Email Addresses: Having an easy - and even enticing - way of capturing client email is a wonderful idea. Email is often the marketing with the highest ROI (return on investment) so growing your email list is a really great way to get your services out there to your ideal customers.

I’m in my happiest place helping business owners tackle these projects and others. Please reach out if you’d like to discuss your marketing projects and goals with me here.
